PROGRAMS AND UNITS


MINI CAMPS-ENTERING GRADES 3-6


ENTERING GRADES 3 & 4: Mini Camp A  and Mini Camp C -
This one week introduction to camp life is ideal for fist time Lakeland campers. It's an exciting sampling of all that camp has to offer.

ENTERING GRADES 3 – 6: Mini Camp B and Mini Camp D -
This 2 week program is for campers wanting a little more then our one week program. It allows campers to make friends, experience overnights and get to experience the wide variety of activities that Lakeland has to offer.

 

AGE GROUPS

CHALUTZIM      ENTERING GRADES 3, 4, 5 & 6
This unit includes our youngest campers (3 & 4 graders) and includes a top notch experience of programs, clinics, special events and so much more.  The Chalutzim unit also features new skill challenges and overnight adventures for our 5 & 6 graders..

CHAVERIM     ENTERING GRADES 7 & 8
Our young teens enjoy challenges and age appropriate activities. These campers prepare for and enjoy exciting out-of-camp trips such as : Watkins Glen State Park, Allegheny State Park

BOGRIM     ENTERING GRADES 9 & 10
Fantastic in-camp programs are highlighted by out-of-camp adventures which may include:
White Water Rafting
Cedar Point Amusement Park
Adirondack Mountains

COUNSELOR IN TRAINING (C.I.T)     ENTERING GRADE 11
To enhance the staffing and Counselor in Training program at Camp Lakeland, our campers entering grade 11 will be offered a great leadership experience.  Camp Lakeland will be offering a 3 ˝ week session, with the option for 7 weeks. This unit in camp will consist of:

First Session This session’s program will consist of being at Camp Lakeland for 24 days and includes 6 major components: Leadership sessions, In camp activities, In and out of camp community service projects, Program placements (Experience with campers in activity/cabin groups), Organizing and supervising weekly All-camp Programs and Social trips out of camp.

Second session This session’s program will consist of being at Camp Lakeland for 10 days and include the same components, condensed from first session, incorporating a 14 day teen trip out of camp.  The out of camp, 14 day trip will follow the Appellation trail, from Camp Lakeland through Pennsylvania, DC, Virginia, the Carolina’s, Georgia and West Virginia.  The activities will including such activities as white water rafting, high & low ropes course (and Alpine Tower), visiting a university campus, guided mountain bike trek, snorkeling off the east coast, a special program with teens from another JCC camp, Rock Climbing, Caving and so much more.

 

JUNIOR COUNSELOR PROGRAM     ENTERING GRADES 12
Completion of the Youth Department's training course and personal interview precede the application process for our future leaders. Open to JCC members or out of town affiliates for the full season.
 
 

CAMP LAKELAND IS INCLUSIVE
Consistent with the JCC's mission, children with physical, mental and emotional challenges have been welcomed and included in our camp program. Early registration is strongly recommended. An interview is required so that we can understand and meet your child's needs
